This fall, I will be in Woods Hole – on the other end of Cape Cod – taking part in a wonderful workshop called Transom. It is linked toWCAI -- our Cape and Islands NPR station. The workshop was created last year with the mission of training people in NPR type storytelling.
As soon as I started working in video, I realized that it is audio that drives a good story – and that there is plenty to learn. I like the idea of doing just one media – sound – rather than juggling both sound and shooting. I also like the idea of going out with a microphone, small recorder, and set of headphones. It feels light!
This starts a new chapter. I am getting my beginner’s mind in shape for the experience, and I am hoping to do lots of work. Wish me luck as I go back to school!
